Deputy's brother drowns on Fortaleza beach during trip with family

Valtenir was on the beach with his mother, brothers, wife, son, nephews and brothers-in-law. The Fire Department reported that the drowning occurred behind the beach's stone barrier, in the blind spot of the lifeguard tower, on the opposite side of the Cocó River in relation to Lifeguard Station 11.

The population saw the drowning and signaled the garrison, who crossed the river with boards and quickly arrived at the scene. Firefighters reported that the businessman, when rescued, was showing more serious signs due to drowning, such as breathing with a lot of foam.

Still on the beach, Valtenir had a cardiac arrest. His death was confirmed by a Samu team that responded to the incident.

Valtenir was born in Tarrafas, in the interior of the state, and lived in the district of São Sebastião, in Cariús, in the Center-South of Ceará. Roberto Filho, mayor of Iguatu (municipality in the same region), is a friend of deputy Nizo Costa and mourned his death.

"In this moment of pain and farewell, I express my most sincere condolences to the entire family and friends. May God grant strength and comfort to each one's heart to face this loss", said Roberto Filho.
