COMCEC 42nd Ministerial Meeting will start tomorrow in Istanbul

According to the statement made by the Presidency of Strategy and Budget, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz will chair the ministerial and closing sessions of the meeting.

Ministerial delegations of member countries as well as representatives from relevant OIC and international organizations will attend the meeting.

The opening ceremony of the 42nd COMCEC Ministerial Meeting, which will start tomorrow in Istanbul and last until November 3, will be held on November 2 with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Theme: "Development of Export Financing Instruments in OIC Member Countries"

This year, the meeting will focus on "developing effective trade finance instruments to increase exports in OIC member countries".

In the ministerial session of the meeting, the relevant ministers of the member countries are expected to exchange views on this issue and make important decisions. At the meeting, developments regarding cooperation studies carried out under the umbrella of COMCEC in the fields of trade, financial cooperation, transportation and communication, agriculture, tourism, poverty alleviation and digital transformation will be evaluated.

At the session to be chaired by Vice President Yılmaz, Minister of Commerce Ömer Bolat will present the "Türkiye Country Report".

Policies and practices that can be developed to protect the family institution, which is the cornerstone of development against digital threats, within the framework of Islamic values, will also be discussed within the scope of COMCEC.

In this context, this year, a comprehensive report was prepared by COMCEC, which examined the examples of Malaysia, Nigeria, Jordan and Türkiye in detail and put forward policy recommendations based on good practices in the world. The main findings of the report will be shared with participants at a special event to be held on November 3 as part of the meeting.

Syria Program Panel

A special event titled "COMCEC Syria Program Panel" will also be held at the meeting. Participants from international organizations, academia, non-governmental organizations, private sector and public sector will attend the special event, where representatives of public institutions with projects in Syria will participate as panelists.
