Police catch robbery at gas station, shoot and arrest criminals in Fortaleza; video

Two men were arrested this Thursday afternoon (29) after police officers caught an attempted robbery at a gas station in Fortaleza.

Police officers from the Motorcycle Squad stopped at the scene and caught the duo pointing a gun at a gas station attendant and a security guard.

A suspect shot the gas station attendant and the police officers, who reacted. One of the robbers was shot in the arm and the other was injured while trying to escape.

The police seized a revolver, ammunition, a motorcycle and a cell phone. The gas station attendant and the suspect who was shot remain hospitalized under medical care.

The case was registered in the 10th Police District for robbery and attempted murder. The suspects are 18 and 25 years old and have a criminal record.

Two men were arrested after military police caught an attempted robbery at a gas station in the Antônio Bezerra neighborhood, in Fortaleza, on Thursday afternoon (29). The establishment's security cameras recorded the action.

According to the Military Police, at around 3:45 pm, the Motorcycle Squad team from the 1st Regional Military Police Command (1st CRPM) stopped at the station, located on Avenida Mister Hull, and saw two men pointing a gun at a gas station attendant and a security guard at the establishment.

"In view of the situation, the military police ordered the suspects to drop the weapon. However, one of the men fired a shot at the gas station attendant and then fired another three shots in the direction of the police composition," said the Military Police.

The agents reacted and, during the exchange of gunfire, one of the suspects was shot in the arm and surrendered. The other tried to escape by jumping over a wall, but suffered a cut on his wrist and was subsequently captured.

During the incident, the police seized a revolver, four live ammunition, two chopped ammunition, a motorcycle, a helmet and a cell phone.

According to the PM, both the gas station attendant and the two suspects were taken to a hospital. The worker and one of the criminals, both shot, remain hospitalized. The other individual, who cut his wrist, was discharged and taken to the police station.

The incident was presented at the 10th Police District, where a case was registered against the robbers for the crimes of major robbery and attempted murder.

The suspects, aged 18 and 25, whose identities were not disclosed, have police records for theft and dangerous driving.
