Israeli Central Election Committee vetoes Sami Abu Shehade's candidacy

Following Hadash Deputy Ofer Cassif, the Central Election Committee also prevented Abu Shehade, another candidate of the Joint List formed by Hadash, Taal and Balad parties, from participating in the elections.

In the committee chaired by Noam Solberg, which convened under the chairmanship of Noam Solberg to discuss the candidate lists that will participate in the elections and the requests to block the candidacies of some names, the chairman of the commission also voted in favor of the decision to invalidate Abu Shehade's candidacy.

While 31 members of the Committee voted to invalidate Abu Shehade's candidacy, only 4 members voted no. Abu Shehade said, "This illegitimate attempt to silence me and remove me from public view will not change my attitude." He reacted to the decision with his words.

According to the news of Israel's Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, the Israeli Supreme Court will make the final decision on whether Abu Shehade can participate in the elections.
