Tenant Murder in Istanbul: Mehmet T.'s Statement Revealed

During the searches carried out at the attacker's house, two unlicensed pistols, an air rifle, an air pistol, 331 cartridges, 10 gun gas cylinders, a sword, two dagger knives, handcuffs, four pepper sprays, crime scene investigation tape and 10 boxes of cartridge pellets were seized.

It was stated that Mehmet T., who was questioned at the Homicide Bureau, confessed his crime and told the details of the incident.

Mehmet T., who said in his statement to the police that he had been a tenant for 30 years, said, "I was their tenant for years. When they thought of selling the building in 2015, I talked to them and agreed to buy the building. From that date on, I started collecting the rents. I was beautifying the building and completing its deficiencies." he said.

Explaining that when he tried to get the title deed of the building, he learned that some of it was illegal, Mehmet T. continued as follows:

- Thereupon, I talked to them and told them that these problems would be resolved or I would not be able to buy the building. Thereupon, an argument broke out between us.

- I spent 350 thousand dollars for the renovation of the building. I asked them for this money. However, when they did not want to give it, discussions started between us.

Explaining that the landlords living in Germany came to Istanbul four months ago and filed eviction cases through their lawyers, Mehmet T. said that the landlords won the case.

Mehmet T., who claimed that they wanted to evacuate his office located under the building the day before the incident, said, "After evacuating the building, they insulted me and left, saying they would come again tomorrow." expressed his claim.

Explaining that Osman Akyol and Nursel Akyol came again with their lawyers on the day of the incident, Mehmet T. claimed the following:

- They started insulting me non-stop. Especially Nursel Akyol was insulting me while making a video. So I went upstairs, took my gun and went downstairs again. When the insults continued, I lost myself. I opened fire towards them.
