Reputable right-wing Minister Ben-Gvir says he will encourage execution of Palestinian prisoners and immigration policy

The far-right Minister stated in his post on the social media platform of the US-based company

In his post, Ben-Gvir said, "About two weeks ago, I went to prison and came face to face with the terrorist Hasan Salame, who is the friend and associate of Yahya Sinvar, one of the senior figures of Hamas."

Reminding that he participated in the demonstrations following the bus bombing in Jerusalem in 1996, in which dozens of Israelis were killed and injured, Ben-Gvir claimed, "As Minister of Defense in the future government, I will ensure that murderer terrorists like him are executed. I will encourage the immigration policy from Gaza, Judah and Samara (Talmudic West Bank)."

Ben-Gvir, who announced that the Jewish Power Party he leads would demand the Ministries of Defense and Justice as a condition for participation in any government to be established, reiterated his call for the exile of Palestinians from Gaza and the West Bank under the name of "voluntary migration".

Hasan Salame, a Palestinian prisoner who participated in the First Intifada in 1987, is held responsible by Israel for the bombings that resulted in the death and injury of dozens of people.

Salame, known as the "Hero of the Holy Revenge Actions", was sentenced to life imprisonment 48 times.

Israel rejected Salame's release in the prisoner exchange agreement in 2011.

At the end of March 2026, the Israeli parliament adopted the bill allowing the death penalty to be imposed on Palestinian prisoners by a vote of 62 against 48.

These statements by Ben-Gvir came at a time when political competition is intensifying ahead of the general elections planned to be held in Israel on October 27, and opinion polls show that the current ruling coalition is losing blood.
