Israeli parties are submitting unusual candidacies before the elections

38 electoral rolls were submitted to the Israeli Central Election Commission on Monday and Tuesday. The parties submitted their lists of candidates for the Knesset before the parliamentary elections in Israel scheduled for October 27.

This year, one of them is the Sharshar party for Love and Unity of the Nation. Its leader, military veteran Itan Shvili, nicknamed "Sharshar", appeared in the Knesset wearing a royal blue cape and crown.

The group wants to be the voice of thousands of Israelis with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), including veterans. Shvili himself emphasizes that he suffers from PTSD and described wearing a royal costume as a form of therapy.

The Pirate Party is trying its hand at it again

The Pirate Party, which has been running since 2013, also entered the elections again, but has never come close to crossing the electoral threshold. This time, the group was joined by a well-known economist, prof. Dan Arieli, who appeared at a meeting with the Electoral Commission in a pirate hat.

The party supports the use of technology to give citizens more direct participation in government decision-making.

Jesus, son of David. The candidate wants to become a priest

Another unusual grouping is the Garden of Eden list. Its president is Yeshua Ben David, whose name can be translated as Jesus, son of David. He declares that he would like to become a priest in the future Jerusalem Temple, and the party proposes reforms aimed at basing the state more on religious law.
