Jannik Sinner announces his withdrawal from the Beijing tournament due to injury

"The knee is still not good, I'm not able to compete." So Jannik Sinner, on X, announced that he will not even participate in the Beijing tournament.

"I'm sorry to give you this announcement" explains Sinner in a video, addressing his fans, adding that he will miss "the atmosphere and the warmth of the fans of the tournament" in Beijing, "which I won last year. I'm very sorry that I won't be able to defend the title. I hope to see you again on the pitch soon", concludes Sinner.

The Italian, out of action since mid-July due to inflammation in his right knee caused by tendinopathy, had recently returned to training, but the problem is evidently not yet completely overcome.
