2030 Olympics: Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux tipped to succeed Edgar Grospiron

The information is revealed by Radio France. A month after the resignation of Edgar Grospiron, the former president of Medef, Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux, would step aside to take the helm of the organizing committee for the 2030 Winter Games, according to a source close to the matter.

Since September 10, the interim has been entrusted to Vincent Roberti and consultations have increased to find a candidate. When asked, the former boss of Paris 2024, Tony Estanguet, recently appointed to the board of directors of the Christian Dior brand, or Henri Giscard d'Estaing, the former president of Club Med, declined.

Already at the head of the Alpes 2030 remuneration committee

Aged 64, Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux was a member of the board of directors of Paris 2024 and, for six months, he has already chaired the remuneration committee of the Organizing Committee for the 2030 Olympic Games. His experience of negotiation would be valuable, the president of the COJOP having to reconcile the interests of two different regions (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Région Sud) and those of the Ministry of Sports.

His appointment as president of the organizing committee should be validated by the executive board before the end of October.
