Court revokes precautionary measures against nursing technician suspected of raping patient in ICU

Among the measures revoked was the prohibition on carrying out activities that involved direct contact with people in vulnerable situations. With the decision, the technician will be able to return to work.

According to the defense lawyer, Matheus Morandi, there is still no set date for the professional's return to activities. The hospital management is expected to inform when this may occur.

Regarding the possibility of acquittal, the lawyer explained that it is still necessary to wait for a statement from the Public Prosecutor's Office (MP) on whether or not to file a complaint against the person being investigated.

According to the defense, the police investigation launched to investigate the case was concluded on August 28, 2026, with the nursing technician not being indicted. After listening to the professionals who were part of the team on duty at the time of the events and the person being investigated, the police authority recorded that they had not formed a conviction regarding the authorship of the crime.

Ronaldo was arrested after a patient reported that she had been a victim of rape while admitted to the hospital in Campo Grande. According to the police report, the suspect had administered two medications to the patient before the crime.

The complaint was registered by the victim's aunt, who informed the police that her niece had been hospitalized for 25 days due to complications during pregnancy and childbirth, which took place on June 30.

The patient told what had happened to another nursing technician, who reported the case to the nurse and the psychologist in the sector.

Also according to the bulletin, the health professional stated that the report, at that time, "would not be sufficient to open an internal investigation". She stated that she would register the complaint and forward it to the hospital administration.

After being discharged from the ICU, the patient was transferred to a room and was monitored full-time by a family member.
