Possibility of Living and Working Without a Visa Between Canada and the EU

According to WSJ news, based on two officials familiar with the process, Carney regularly discusses the possibility of Canadian citizens being able to live and work in the EU without a visa with many EU leaders, especially French President Emmanuel Macron.

Macron's press office did not return requests for comment but confirmed that Macron and Carney will meet on September 20 on the French islands of Saint Pierre and Miquelon on Canada's Atlantic coast.

In addition, efforts to deepen relations between Canada and the EU are expected to face difficulties.

Even the narrower trade agreement signed in the past has faced serious opposition within Europe.

Although more than ten years have passed since the agreement in question and nine years since its provisional entry into force, some EU member states have not yet ratified the text.
