Penalty for a hospital in Lublin for not accepting a patient with a heart attack

In August, a man with chest pain came to the emergency room of the hospital at ul. Herbert from Lublin. However, he was not accepted - the door was closed and despite ringing, no one answered. The woman accompanying the man called an ambulance, which took him to another hospital. He was helped there. According to media reports, he suffered a heart attack.

Małgorzata Bartoszek, spokeswoman for the Lublin branch of the National Health Fund, announced that the National Health Fund had imposed a PLN 30,000 payment on the hospital. PLN fine for failure to provide assistance to the patient. The fund has already received explanations from the facility.

They show that the situation was caused by the negligence of two nursing staff who did not fulfill their duties, the spokeswoman emphasized.

Director of the provincial hospital named after Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński Piotr Matej announced an application to the National Health Fund to reduce the penalty or waive it.

The director of the Lublin hospital announced that two nursing staff who prevented the patient from being admitted have been dismissed for disciplinary reasons. He added that an investigation had been carried out.

The hospital submitted a notification to the District Prosecutor's Office in Lublin on suspicion of committing a crime by persons obliged to provide health services.
