Minister of Unification Chung Dong-young reaffirmed his previous position that it is difficult to determine the intentionality of the DMZ land mine explosion incident. Minister Chung analyzed that North Korea's recent threatening statement against South Korea was intended to complete the 'borderization' project as scheduled, and suggested a return to the state before the September 19 military agreement as a solution.

During the comprehensive audit of the Health and Welfare Committee of the National Assembly, the ruling and opposition parties fought over the disclosure of the minutes of the National Pension rebalancing deferment meeting and the introduction of MIFJIN. The meeting was interrupted due to shouting over the attitude of National Pension Service Chairman Kim Seong-joo's response.

An arrest warrant was dismissed for the representative of an election service company and an accountant on charges of illegally spending political funds from Hong Joon-pyo's camp during the 2021 People Power Party presidential primary. The Daegu District Court determined that the risk of escape and destruction of evidence was low and the need for arrest was not sufficiently demonstrated.

In the comprehensive audit of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee, a situation of under-employment of employees that occurred during the integration process of the Overseas Korean Cooperation Center and the Overseas Koreans Office was pointed out. Rep. Woo Won-sik called for the fulfillment of the promise of employment succession, and Kim Gyeong-hyeop, head of the Overseas Koreans Office, said he was seeking a solution through recruitment from other public institutions.

During the audit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Unification by the National Assembly Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee, the ruling and opposition parties clashed fiercely over the ROK-US alliance, transfer of wartime operational control, and North Korea's responsibility for landmine provocations in the DMZ. The issue of Rep. Chung Cheong-rae's U.S. visa being withheld and the appearance of model land mines in the Office of the Inspector General were discussed as major issues.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Hyun said during a government audit on the 27th that negotiations for the transfer of wartime operational control are proceeding smoothly and that he is confident of the US side's consent. He also dismissed the possibility of reducing U.S. troops stationed in Korea and emphasized that he would respond strongly to the U.S. regarding the recent issue of delays in issuing visas to lawmakers.
