Collapse in illegal coal mine in Kilimli: 1 dead

The incident took place at noon in Esen District of Gelik town of Kilimli district.

Coal, soil and rock fragments fell on Muhammet Çelik, who was working in the illegal mine. Upon notice, health and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the region.

Çelik was brought to the surface by his colleagues and brought to Atatürk State Hospital by ambulance. Çelik could not be saved despite the interventions made here.

15 days ago, the illegal furnace was destroyed and sealed with explosive material, and the area where the furnace was located was E.Ç. It was claimed that it belonged to a person named and that the illegal furnace was reactivated from a different point.

An investigation has been launched into the incident.
