Murder of a dead body in a freezer in Kırıkkale: 17 suspects at the courthouse

C.C., who lives in Antalya, called Meliha V., who was renting her house in Kırıkkale, on May 16, 2025. Meliha V.'s daughter, who answered the phone, said that her mother died on May 3. Thereupon, C.Ç., who came to Kırıkkale from outside the province, had the door of the flat opened by a locksmith and entered. C.Ç. found a dismembered body in the refrigerator and freezer at home. Upon C.Ç.'s notice, a large number of police teams were dispatched to the address.

Upon examination by the teams, it was determined that the male body was dismembered and placed in garbage bags in the deep freezer and the freezer section of the refrigerator. During the search of the house, a knife and a cleaver were seized.

The body was taken to Kırıkkale Forensic Medicine Institute after examination at home. It was determined that the body belonged to Hüseyin Okumuşoğlu, who disappeared after going from Ankara to Kırıkkale in 2014 and was 40 years old at that time.

As a result of the collected evidence and retrospective technical analysis, the identities of 17 suspects related to the incident were identified. In order to catch the suspects, Kırıkkale Provincial Police Department Public Order Branch Directorate teams prepared an operation. As part of the investigation, a simultaneous operation was carried out in Kırıkkale, Ankara and Aydın on 14 August. During the operation, 17 suspects were caught and detained.
