The incident took place on February 27 at around 17.30 in Mimar Sinan District Çağlayan Street.
According to the information obtained, 63-year-old Gülbiter Duman, who was looking after her elderly mother, collapsed in the kitchen. Biter's mother, Fatma Dağ (82), went to the kitchen and asked for help from the neighbors when she saw her daughter covered in blood on the floor.
Upon notification, medical teams arrived at the scene and determined that Gülbiter Duman, who had cuts on her neck and arm, had died. Upon examination, expert teams and the Public Prosecutor determined that the three twisted bracelets on the woman's arm were missing. During the investigation, it was determined that the suspect Salih Ç. went to the jeweler and exchanged the cut bracelet.
The teams took action and detained Salih Ç., who was learned to be the neighbor of the woman who lost her life. The suspect, who did not accept the accusations, was arrested by the court and sent to prison.
During the searches carried out at the suspect's residence, 2 pistols, 30 cartridges, 3 smoothbore rifles, a total of 811 shotgun cartridges of different calibers, colors and brands, and 1 knife, which constitutes the crime of violating the law no. 6136, were seized and kept in a hidden area in the house.

In the indictment prepared against the defendant, aggravated life imprisonment was requested for the crime of intentional murder against the woman, and a prison sentence of 10 to 15 years and a judicial fine were requested for the crime of looting the house with a gun. The first hearing of the case regarding the incident started to be heard at Kocaeli 3rd High Criminal Court. The detained defendant Salih Ç., witnesses and party lawyers attended the hearing. Defendant Salih Ç., who did not accept the accusations, said, "The reason I went to the building on the day of the incident was to meet F., the woman I liked. We did not have any relationship with her, but I went there to have a relationship. I could not meet F. that day. The building has only one entrance. This building is approximately 5 kilometers away from my workplace."

Defendant Salih Ç., who said that the gold he exchanged belonged to his wife, said, "I kept the gold in my drawer at the office. No one comes in or out of my office. The gold belonged to my wife. The gold was cut, but I cut it later. I had taken the gold from my wife about a year and a half or two years before the incident. I kept it cut so that my wife would not take it if she saw it. I had taken the gold from my wife when I opened our business. However, it was in my possession, I had not destroyed all of it. During this period, I was not executed in any way. "I was not late with my debts. I had no debts related to my business. I had around 4 million debts on my credit cards. I had already paid it that day."
"I EXCHANGED THE GOLD TO PAY TO THE BANK"
The defendant, who said that he did not know Gülbiter, said, "In order not to tell the jeweler that the gold belonged to my wife, I told him that the gold belonged to my mother. During this process, I asked for a loan from my mother and father. About a month and a half before the incident, I bought 25 grams and 35 grams of gold from my father. I did not want to change the bracelet for 25 grams. That is why I asked my father. On the day of the incident, I promised to pay 200 thousand liras to the bank. For this reason, I had to change the gold that day. This situation "It may have coincided with the date of the victim's murder. However, I did not take the gold from the victim and I did not kill him. I had no previous knowledge that the victim had gold."
"THE DICTANT OFFERED MY WIFE TO PUT HIS GOLD IN THE SAFE AT OUR BANK"
Stating that the victim was the owner of his mother-in-law's house, Salih Ç. said, "My wife and my mother-in-law were talking after the woman died. I heard the victim say that he smuggled money from his wife and children and kept the gold in a safe. This was after his death. My wife and I have had a safe deposit box since 2016-2017. The victim had previously asked my wife if we would put the gold in our safe deposit box at the banks. My wife also said "I heard about this after the victim's death. I had no information about the victim's gold before. I don't know when the victim made the offer to put the gold in the safe," he said.

Defendant Salih Ç., who said that he came to the building to check whether F, the woman he liked, had come to his house from Istanbul, said: "I went to the place where the building was two or three times. I listened to the door to see if F was coming. There was no sound inside, so I went out. I was looking at the windows while I was outside, thinking that she would open the windows. This way, I would understand whether she would come. My wife had no information about the normality of our economic situation. She thought we were indebted. My wife constantly took money and told him that our situation was bad so that he would not put it in his safe." "I did not take the bracelets from my wife's arm. I cut them and kept them so that my wife would not see them again and take them away. Even though my mother-in-law said that she told me and my wife what she knew about the gold, this is not true. I demand my acquittal and release."
HE ASKED HOW TO CUT THE BRACELET
Jeweler Y.D., who was heard as a witness, said, "The defendant said that his mother would bring the bracelet on the day of the incident, but he did not know how many grams it was. He even stated that he could not remove the bracelet. I told him that he could remove it by cutting it, and since we knew that he was a civil engineer, 'You are an engineer, you know how to cut, it can be cut with a pick cutter.' He did not say that it was cut at that moment. The gold was 150 grams in total, we gave him the money. We also gave 35 grams of gold bullion. 300-400 thousand TL. "We paid the remaining amount and transferred some of it to his account. There was no trace of blood on the gold coin. It was a type that was difficult to cut. The defendant did not feel any panic. When he arrived that day, he said that he could not receive payment from the companies he was doing business with and that he had to deposit money urgently because his credit record was intact."

S.Ç., the defendant's father, who was heard as a witness, said, "My son told me that he would get me a tax clearance certificate in his last days after establishing a company. I gave him 25 grams of gold. The second time, I gave him another 35 grams of gold. Before, his financial situation was good. The last time I came, I didn't have any money either, I couldn't give it to him. A month before this incident, he asked me for money again, saying 'Give me as much money as you have'. He couldn't get the money from where he worked, so he was stuck. My son didn't have gold, but his wife had it. "Salih did not ask for gold from his mother. There is no money or gold from my wife," he said.
"THEY EXCHANGED MY BRIDE'S GOLD WHEN THEY OPENED A BUSINESS"
The defendant's mother, K.C. He said, "When they opened a business, they changed my daughter-in-law's gold. I don't know if my daughter-in-law had any gold left for this reason. My son asked us for 120 thousand liras of money. We gave him 35 grams of gold when there was no money. He asked for money again 25 days later. We gave him our gold again. My son said he had credit card and insurance debts. My son later told us that there were 3 bracelets at his workplace and they had changed them. I did not give any bracelets to Salih, I only gave him grams of gold."
The court decided to continue the defendant's detention and postpone the hearing.
"There was a knock on my door while my daughter was not at home"
The statements taken by Anne Fatma Dağ at the prosecutor's office were also accessed. Fatma Dağ said, "About 5 months ago, I came to my daughter, Gülbiter Duman. My daughter went market shopping in the afternoon. During this time, there was a knock on the door, but I did not open it. When my daughter came from the market, she brought me food, I ate it. She said she was going to bed and left the room. When I asked the time, she said it was around 16.00. She closed my door and left. I ate my food, started watching TV. Then I went to perform ablution. I called to my daughter, she did not answer. "When I went to the kitchen, I saw my daughter covered in blood," he said.
