2 buildings were evacuated due to landslide in Kocaeli Izmit

KOCAELİ (AA) - In İzmit district of Kocaeli, 2 buildings were evacuated as a precaution due to the landslide that occurred in the area where the foundation excavation was carried out.

A landslide occurred in Yenişehir District Karanfil Street, following the foundation excavation for construction.

Upon notice, fire brigade, police and municipal police teams were dispatched to the area.

Following the investigation by the teams, it was decided to evacuate 2 buildings close to the area where the landslide occurred as a precaution.

On the other hand, on August 27, after a sound was heard from the columns and beams of the 4-storey building in the same area, the inspection of the building and the adjacent construction site determined that the building was damaged and had a risk of tilting, and the building was demolished in a controlled manner.
