Kylian Mbappe's reaction to artificial intelligence visuals: I do not accept this comparison

French National Team star Kylian Mbappe spoke about the 'dictator' images spread on social media and produced by artificial intelligence.

Some images circulated during the World Cup depicted Mbappe in a military uniform or sitting on a throne like a monarch. In some posts, he was juxtaposed with controversial historical figures.

'I DO NOT ACCEPT THIS COMPARISON'

The French star said that he found some of the images humorous, but was disturbed by the comparison with people associated with great tragedies throughout history.

Speaking to France Football magazine, Mbappe said the following about the posts:

"There's a funny side to it. Because you get the feeling that some people do this without really having any bad intentions."

However, stating that there is another dimension to the comparisons, Mbappe continued his words as follows:

“But there is a less funny side to this, because we know how much harm some people have caused throughout history.”

Mbappe stated that he did not find it appropriate to compare himself with these names and said, "They compare me with people who kill people or cause millions of people to suffer... I don't think I have done such a thing in my life. Therefore, there are different aspects of the issue."

In the news, it was stated that Mbappe, who was stated to be the top scorer in the history of the World Cup with 22 goals, leaving Lionel Messi behind, thought that the posts in question sometimes revealed a lack of historical awareness, even if they were presented as a joke.

Mbappe was also reminded that his French National Team teammate Ousmane Dembele nicknamed him 'Mobut', referring to former Zaire President Mobutu Sese Seko.

The French star evaluated the nickname used by Dembele differently than the posts on social media:

"The situation is different with Osman. He got this nickname from social media, but from his perspective it is just a joke."

On the other hand, in the news that emerged this week, it was stated that Manchester United evaluated the opportunity to transfer Mbappe in 2015, but the club did not take action after observer reports.

Ryan Giggs, who served in the technical team of Manchester United under the management of Louis van Gaal after ending his football career, said that the club's observers went to France to watch the young Mbappe, who was playing for Monaco at that time.

Speaking on the 'Rio Ferdinand Presents' podcast, Giggs said: "Some of the scouts went to watch him. Monaco were playing Paris Saint-Germain, so they went to Paris to follow him."

Giggs stated that he asked about the status of the transfer a few weeks later, but received an answer he did not expect:

"A few weeks later I asked the person who suggested they watch him what had happened. He said, 'They weren't exactly sure about him.' So the case was closed and that was the end of it."
