More than 170 filmmakers, including the Dardenne brothers, Jacques Audiard and Justine Triet, warn in a column published in Le Monde about the risks for French cinema linked to the doubling of Canal+ VAT and the reduction in funding to France Télévisions in the 2027 budget project, estimating that this could lead to the disappearance of 80 films per year and 400 films over five years.
