Lavitola: 'I regret Ranucci's troubles, but I warned him of the dangers'

Valter Lavitola, confessed to the attack on Paolo Ranucci, expressed himself in prison stating that he was "repentant and heartbroken" for having "caused trouble" for "brother Ranucci", but confirms that he warned him of the dangers on 7 September. The entrepreneur's words were collected by the lawyer Arturo Cola during an interview lasting over three hours in Rebibbia.

Lavitola does not take any steps back from the confession of August 12, claiming that the idea of ​​the attack was his and aimed at increasing the escort of the journalist "in light of the threats received". The lawyer announces that his client will offer "clarifications" to the Review Court.

On the investigation front, the defenders of the four members of the gang that carried out the attack have requested interrogation from the prosecutors of the DDA in Rome, potentially to clarify the warrant received from Gomes Tavares, currently on the run in Africa.

The ANM intervened in the case after the controversy over the applause for Ranucci, defining it "a gesture of solidarity".
