"Matteo Salvini can hold the extraordinary congress of the League on his own. It's a trap. I won't fall for it." The senator of the League, Massimiliano Romeo, said this in an interview with Corriere della Sera. "Attilio Fontana and I and all the others - he adds - are moving only and exclusively for the good of the Northern League and, imagine, also of Salvini himself".

"We say - the senator continues -: Salvini may remain secretary, but let's set up a sort of 'electoral committee', a team that has real powers, to urgently straighten out the political line of the party. We must no longer pursue Vannacci on his ground".
