Trump: talks with Iran this week, but no immediate closure

After rejecting the Iranian proposal to end the conflict, Donald Trump said he expected talks this week.

In a telephone interview with Axios, the tycoon said he expected American negotiators to start dialogue with Tehran during the week. "I expect more talks with Iran. They want to make a deal, but that's not what I want to do. It's a deal that maybe we would have accepted a year ago. They overestimated their position," Trump added.

Asked whether he is considering resuming attacks on Iran, the US president replied: "I think about it all the time."
