Body of missing Thuringian woman found in Kaiser Mountains

The body of a missing woman from Thuringia has been found in the Austrian Kaiser Mountains. As the police in the state of Tyrol announced, the woman fell around 80 meters to her death while hiking.

The 58-year-old from the Saale-Holzland district was on vacation in Going am Wilden Kaiser. On Tuesday she set out on a mountain tour. After relatives were no longer able to reach the woman, they alerted the police on Wednesday. Mountain rescuers, alpine police and two helicopters were deployed, but the search was initially unsuccessful.
