The Liberals pass the Riksdag barrier according to polling station surveys

According to SVT's polling station survey, the Liberals pass the Riksdag barrier. When the numbers were announced shortly after 8 p.m., wild cheers broke out at the party's election vigil at the Vasateatern in central Stockholm. Cheers and hugs replaced each other after a long and challenging election campaign where support for long periods has been far below the threshold. In Valu, the Liberals get 5.4 percent.

Romina Pourmokhtari says that she still hopes that Tidölaget will succeed in closing in on the opposition parties.

L-top Johan Britz is also happy and tells DN that the polling station surveys from TV4 and SVT show that Simona Mohamsson has made "a fantastic election campaign".

- It looks good, all votes must be counted, says Johan Britz.

Great jubilation erupted at the Vasa Theater when the Moderates won more than the Sweden Democrats in Valun. At the same time, the Tidö parties are several percentage points behind the opposition parties.

- I am very concerned that we do not seem to reach a majority for Tidö. It is worrying that Sweden risks facing a radical left turn, says Johan Britz.

The Liberals' second deputy party leader Lotta Edholm tells DN that she feels "100 percent better" after SVT's polling station survey has been published.

- Simona Mohamsson. That's the simple summary. She has made a fantastic election campaign, which is unparalleled, says Lotta Edholm.

The Liberals have governed Sweden with the other Tidö parties since the 2022 election, but in government the party has lost support and during the election year it has looked bleak for the party in opinion polls. The party suffered several heavy defections and during the spring and summer the support for Simona Mohamsson's party was around two percent in several surveys.

At the end of August, Jimmie Åkesson gave the Liberals a sharp deadline: L needs to reach at least 3.5 percent ten days before the election - otherwise voters should cast their votes for another party in the Tidölaget.

That call had an effect, and in the weeks before the election the Liberals surged in several polls. Thus, it is not a huge surprise that the party now seems to be able to overcome the barrier.

The counting of votes began immediately when the polling stations closed at 8 p.m. and a preliminary election result is expected later in the evening.

Even in TV4's survey, the Liberals seem to be able to pass the barrier. There, the party gets 5.0 percent.
