Loire: a 10-year-old girl victim of minor corruption via the Xooloo application

A mother from the Loire believed her little girl was safe by opting for the Xooloo children's messaging service. But the 10-year-old child was in contact with a person who sent her images of a sexual nature and allegedly encouraged her to engage in intimate gestures, reports Le Progrès this Sunday.

The mother discovered this inappropriate exchange by chance before her child told her everything. The mother filed a complaint with the Andrézieux-Bouthéon gendarmerie in February 2026. A man, located in the Lyon region, was indicted “for corruption of a minor by a person brought into contact, solicitation by an adult for the dissemination or transmission of his image and incitement to commit an act of a sexual nature via a means of electronic communication”, lists the regional daily.

Other child victims of the suspect?

The Xooloo messaging service claims to have provided investigators with “the entire exchanges between the accused and the child” and recognizes limits to the security of the site. The investigation must make it possible to find out if other children were victims of the suspect.
