LS Electric signs energy efficiency MOU with Sajo Group and KEPCOES

LS Electric announced on the 19th that it signed a 'MOU for revitalizing energy efficiency business' with Sajo Group and KEPCO subsidiary KEPCO S at LS Yongsan Tower in Yongsan-gu, Seoul on the 18th.

Through this agreement, LS Electric plans to supply energy-saving package solutions, such as IE5 class (ultra premium class) ultra-high efficiency electric motors (motor) and high efficiency inverter (motor drive), to Sajo Group's major business sites.

LS Electric expected that the introduction of this solution would reduce workplace power usage by about 8%.

First, the coolant pump motor at Sajo Systems' Pyeongtaek Logistics Center will be replaced with a high-efficiency device and will be expanded to major business sites within the group in the future.

In addition, the energy usage status analysis and consulting service 'Beyond We discover additional energy saving measures for each business site and suggest additional improvement measures to increase efficiency.

Sajo Group plans to keep pace with government policy by introducing high-efficiency equipment to become the first food company to become carbon neutral.

Through its energy efficiency project, KEPCOES plans to support Sajo Group to replace its facilities with high-efficiency equipment without initial investment costs and recover the investment through reduced energy costs later.

As the government continues to strengthen the Energy Efficiency Improvement Mandatory System (EERS), the domestic energy efficiency market is expected to grow rapidly. EERS is a system that imposes energy reduction goals above a certain level on energy supply companies such as KEPCO, and a plan is being pursued to expand the current savings goal of 0.3% of electricity sales to 1% by 2031.

An LS Electric official said, "We will actively support customers' energy efficiency improvement and ESG (environmental, social, and corporate governance) management practices and lead the rapidly growing energy efficiency market."
