Lufthansa is resuming daily flights from Bremen to Frankfurt

Traveling to many international destinations will be easier for passengers from Bremen and the surrounding area: from the summer onwards, a plane will take off to Frankfurt every day, as the Bremen Senate Chancellery announced. The airline Lufthansa is also planning almost four daily connections to Munich.

Passengers reach numerous national, European and intercontinental destinations via Frankfurt and Munich. The connection is particularly important for companies and science in the region, emphasized Bremen's Senator for Economic Affairs Kristina Vogt (Left). “This is a very good signal for Bremen and the entire northwest German economy.”

The Chamber of Commerce also welcomes the return of the connection. “It is an important first step, even if Bremen companies and the economy in the entire northwest region would have liked more daily connections for the connection to the international hub Frankfurt,” said President André Grobien.

Previously up to five flights a day

Lufthansa discontinued the flight connection between Bremen and Frankfurt on July 1, 2026. The airline justified the move because the connection was not economical. Until then, up to five planes flew to Frankfurt every day.

The decision caused dissatisfaction among entrepreneurs. The Hanseatic city and Lufthansa then spent hours in discussions looking for a solution to prevent the route from being canceled.
