While the fight against forest fires continues in many European countries, investigations into the causes of fires continue throughout France. Nearly 500 people have been arrested in France since July 1 on suspicion of starting or causing fires. Approximately 70 percent of these people are suspected of setting fires intentionally, while the rest are suspected of causing fires accidentally. According to reports in the French press, the 15-year-old boy, about whom an investigation was initiated in connection with the fire in which two firefighters lost their lives near Bordeaux Airport in July, was sent to a closed training center.
