MOSCOW, September 17 - RIA Novosti. A new version of MacSyn malware targeting Apple computers can steal passwords, cryptocurrencies and confidential user data from Telegram, Kaspersky Lab experts said.

“After installation, the stealer asks for the administrator password. If you enter it, a fake notification appears that the application is damaged, with a proposal to move it to the trash. However, in fact, nothing is transferred to the trash, the stealer remains on the device and collects browsing history in the browser, cookies, saved logins and passwords, data from crypto wallet applications, the Telegram messenger,” a Kaspersky Lab expert told Gazeta.Ru.

The original malicious file can get onto the device as a result of downloading software disguised as an application that the user wanted to download, experts noted. They recommended that you always check whether the application actually belongs to the original developer, and also make sure that it is reliable.
