Mother arrested on suspicion of mistreatment and facilitating sexual abuse of daughters in Maceió

According to the Civil Police, the partner of the victims' mother, who is being investigated for committing these abuses, is on the run. Police are carrying out searches to try to locate and capture the suspect. A cell phone was seized.

Police investigations reported that in addition to collusion with the abuse, the mother is also suspected of committing mistreatment, as she forced her daughters to beg on the streets and only return home after collecting a minimum amount stipulated by her.

Delegate Talita Aquino informed that the arrest took place after family members filed a Police Report (B.O), and that one of the victims confirmed what was happening.

Talita also said that if the victims did not get the money, they would be punished. The police are also investigating whether the crimes were motivated by financial or emotional dependence between the suspect and her partner.

With the mother's arrest, the victims are being monitored by the Guardianship Council and will then be taken to a relative's house. The mother and girls will still be heard.
