Over 63 thousand lightning strikes fell in Tuscany, in Grosseto there were floods and fallen trees
Over 63,000 lightning strikes have been recorded in Tuscany in the last 12 hours. The intense rainfall led to increases in the Salarco rivers in Montepulciano and Bruna in Gavorrano to the first stable warning level.
The vast storm system that affected part of the region, where an orange alert is in progress, passed outside the region during the night and a new intensification is possible with the activation of new storms between late morning and afternoon
Flooding of apartments and basements, underpasses with cars and heavy vehicles blocked by the water, as well as trees felled or damaged by the strong gusts of the sirocco wind. This is the toll of the bad weather that hit the province of Grosseto and in particular the Maremma capital during the night, involving the firefighters. At the moment there are no injuries reported. Since early evening yesterday the firefighters have carried out 30 interventions, while 15 are currently underway. Other interventions also in the area of Arcidosso and Pitigliano, again in the province of Grosseto, mainly due to felled trees and landslides. A violent storm also hit the Livorno area, in particular Cecina. Also in this case the firefighters intervened on several occasions, mostly due to water damage and flooding of underground rooms.

In the Marche region, over 100 interventions by the firefighters
Fallen trees and branches, unsafe elements to be secured on buildings, flooded areas to be drained: this is the outcome of the work of the firefighters in the Marche region after the wave of bad weather which hit the region since late afternoon yesterday with intense rain and strong gusts of wind.
Since yesterday evening, over 100 interventions have been carried out, concentrated above all in the provinces of Ancona, Pesaro and Urbino and Macerata, but also extended to Fermo and Ascoli Piceno. In detail: Ancona 49, Pesaro and Urbino 26, Macerata 16, Fermo two, Ascoli Piceno two.
The situation is stabilizing and at the moment there are no particular critical issues. In Senigallia the firefighters removed a branch that had fallen onto the road.
Today, until midnight, an orange Civil Protection alert has been issued for the north of the region and for the central area inside, while the alert is yellow for the rest of the territory.
In Milan the Lambro floods during the night and then returns
It was a night of very intense rainfall, which in Milan followed yesterday's brief storms, with the flow of the rivers increasing which caused the Lambro to overflow, overflowing briefly and then returning after flooding Via Rilke and Via Camaldoli, however protected by mobile flood gates. Firefighters and 118 did not report any particularly serious interventions or injuries. Seveso came close to activating the tank. A large tree fell on the street in via Carpi, but without causing any injuries. Some cars remained stuck in an underpass in Viale Martesana in Vimodrone (Milan) and firefighters intervened to help the people on board. "The rains were intense until 2.30 am - reported the Civil Protection councilor Marco Granelli - and in 24 hours almost 100 millimeters of rain per square meter fell in the northern part of the city such as in Cinisello Balsamo (Milan) and Monza". The Ceas community was evacuated in Lambro Park during the flood. The river levels remain high and under observation because today the weather forecast predicts further rainfall although not particularly violent ones.
In Brescia, a department in the Civil Hospital was flooded
Flooding in some parts of the Civil Hospitals of Brescia after the strong storms that hit the capital during the night, where the intense rain caused inconvenience and flooding in several areas.
The water entered the Cardiac Resuscitation Department, where two patients were moved as a precaution. Small flooding was also recorded in other departments of the hospital. However, the most significant problem concerned in particular the area of acceptance. Hospital staff worked overnight to restore the spaces and allow the facility to operate normally. "Now the situation is under control", assured the general director of the Spedali Civili Luigi Cajazzo.
