Bad weather in Italy: yellow alert in 13 regions for thunderstorms and showers

A disturbance passing through Central Europe will accentuate phenomena of instability in part of Italy, with even intense showers and thunderstorms. Based on the available forecasts, the civil protection department, in agreement with the regions involved, which are responsible for activating the civil protection systems in the affected territories, has issued a warning of adverse weather conditions.

The weather phenomena, impacting on the different areas of the country, could determine hydrogeological and hydraulic criticalities which are reported, in a national summary, in the national criticality and alert bulletin which can be consulted on the department website: on www.protezionecivile.gov.it). the bulletin of August 16th.

From the late morning of Monday 17 August, the warning predicts scattered precipitation, mainly showers and thunderstorms, in Lombardy, Trentino-Alto Adige, Veneto and Emilia-Romagna, extending to Tuscany, Umbria, Marche and Abruzzo. The phenomena will be accompanied by heavy showers, strong gusts of wind, local hailstorms and frequent electrical activity.

On the basis of the forecasted phenomena, a yellow alert for weather-hydro risk has been assessed for Monday in 13 regions.
