Marc Santos debuts with Levante and makes history in LaLiga

Levante has not started on the right foot this season. The Granota team was beaten by Espanyol, with a double from Roberto Fernández and another goal from Dolan. However, the positive thing for the fans of the Valencian team was the debut of one of their pearls, a new prodigy of Spanish football: Marc Santos.

The young footballer, aged 15 years and 288 days, took the field to replace Iván Romero in the 64th minute and thus became the youngest player to debut for Levante in the First Division and the fourth in LaLiga history, ahead of Lamine Yamal.

Santos (Massanassa, Valencia 2010), who plays as a left-footed winger, surpassed goalkeeper Álex Primo in almost two years, who on May 15, 2022 made his debut at 17 years and 10 months in a match against Alavés and became the youngest player to play a match with Levante in the First Division.

Alejandro Blesa in 2022, Wellington in 2012, Nacho Pérez in 2026 and Pepelu in 2022 also made their debut with Levante in Primera at 17 years old, but Marc Santos has shattered that record by doing so when he still has two more months left before turning 16.

Santos became the fourth youngest player to play minutes in the entire history of LaLiga, only behind Luka Romero, who played for Mallorca in 2020 at the age of 15 years and 219 days against Real Madrid and Francisco Bao 'Sanson', who did so with Celta de Vigo in 1939 at 15 years and 255 days.

The Levante player shares the fourth step with Pedro Irastoza, who in 1934 played for Real Sociedad at the age of 15 years and 288 days.

The granota footballer has also narrowly surpassed Lamine Yamal, who made his debut with Barcelona in 2023 with two more days than Santos had this Sunday.
