Maria Clara Pacheco wins sixth consecutive title in taekwondo and leads the Olympic ranking

Maria Clara Pacheco's Olympic cycle in taekwondo is almost perfect. This Sunday (6), the Brazilian won her eighth title in nine competitions since the Games in Paris (France), the sixth in a row. Now, the 23-year-old from São Paulo has won the Muju Grand Prix (South Korea), remaining hegemonic in the under-57 kilograms (kg) category.

Maria Clara, who gave no chance to her four opponents, fought for the title. In the final, she beat South Korean Kim Yu-Jin, current Olympic champion. It was the Brazilian's fourth victory over her rival. One of the triumphs was precisely in the world title decision, last year, in Wuxi (China).

In 2025, she had already been champion in Muju, beating the South Korean herself in the decision. In the current cycle, the São Paulo native also won gold at the Charlotte (United States) and Rome (Italy) Grand Prix. The event is among those that give the most points in the World Taekwondo Olympic ranking, the international federation of the sport, of which the Brazilian is leader in the category.
