Husband and wife found dead in the Modena area with their bodies decapitated. He is being investigated for murder

Two elderly spouses, an 80-year-old man and a 70-year-old woman, were found dead inside a house in the countryside of Mirandola, a municipality with 25 thousand inhabitants in the province of Modena. The two would have both been beheaded. The hypothesis followed by the investigators is that of a double murder. The couple's son would have already been interviewed by the police. In the evening, the carabinieri, police and 118 operators went to the site. It is not known who contacted the police alerting them to the presence of the two bodies in the house.

A community in shock

The report of the discovery of the elderly shocked the entire community of Mirandola. The small street where the victims' home overlooks was immediately cordoned off to prevent access to unauthorized persons. Mayor Letizia Budri, alerted, is in contact with the police, awaiting developments and updates. The only thing known, from the first rumors on the spot, is that the bodies of the elderly couple had very deep wounds to the head. So much so that it was said that they were beheaded. Every lead is examined but in all likelihood it was a double murder. Everything else, starting from what happened inside the family's home, and above all why, is being examined by the police. The investigations are entrusted to the Police and coordinated by the Modena Prosecutor's Office. On site the director of the flying squad Mario Paternoster and the prosecutor on duty, the deputy prosecutor Marco Niccolini. The Scientific Police is working on the delicate findings.
