Marta Nawrocka about abortion, in vitro and meeting first ladies in Poland

Rymanowski asked Nawrocka about her attitude to abortion. She indicated that she was a believer herself, she gave birth to a son at the age of 17, and she was definitely pro-life and against abortion. I don't wish any woman to have to face such a choice. The role of the state is to support women in difficult situations, those who gave birth to children with disabilities, she emphasized.

The host of the conversation pointed out that the change in abortion law in 2020 caused huge protests. People took to the streets. They have every right to do so, but then it went a bit too far. This wave of hate was really huge. We have the same law as in Poland. You have to accept it, and if someone wants to change it, there will be a public debate on it, she said.

I met hundreds of women and not a single woman brought up the topic of abortion. For women in Poland, other topics are important (...). There is no topic of abortion, she said.

"You can't take away the happiness of having a child from another person"

The topics also included the issue of state financing of the in vitro procedure. You cannot take away the happiness of having a child from another person. If a woman cannot get pregnant naturally, the first lady said.

She said she was "lucky" because she got pregnant naturally three times and she wouldn't want to limit another person's ability to have children. I would like every woman who wants to become a mother to be happy and become a mother. If this is the in vitro method, then yes, she said.

Meeting of first ladies in Poland

Nawrocka also announced that a meeting of first ladies is planned in Poland in the fall. European presidents and the wife of the US president, Melania Trump, will be invited, she noted.

It was Melania Trump who inspired Marta Nawrocka to organize the event. In March, it organized the Fostering the Future Together summit. Marta Nawrocka was one of the 45 first ladies and first gentlemen invited to Washington.

We will talk about the future and children's safety online, said the first lady. During the event, the topic of hate and threats that children may encounter on the Internet, as well as "positive educational aspects that children can use", will be discussed. Nawrocka emphasized that this topic is very important, and parents should educate their children and talk to them about it.

Nawrocka also expressed her desire to organize this type of event in Poland in July during the meeting of the Spouses of the Presidents of the NATO Summit in Ankara, to which she was invited by the First Lady of the Republic of Turkey, Emine Erdogan. The debate was held under the slogan "Children, technology and safety: protecting future generations".
