Mattarella: "It is good to strengthen cooperation against economic-financial crime"

The President of the Republic, concluding his two-day state visit to the Principality of Monaco, underlined: "I would like to express great appreciation for the strengthened cooperation between our countries in the fight against organized economic-financial crime". In this regard, the head of state recalled the recent signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Guardia di Finanza. “It's another plan on which we collaborate very effectively and with great value,” he added.

"We have registered our common belief in the indispensability of multilateralism and its forms that must be guaranteed" and we have found "a constant full harmony and convergence of the dignity of each state and the protection of the rule of law", underlined the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella. The head of state also highlighted "the depth of the ties that bind our peoples, united by a long history of closeness, not only geographical, but also cultural and human".

In the morning, President Mattarella met a delegation from the Italian community of the Principality of Monaco: "The relationship between the Principality and Italy has always been historically characterized by strong ties and is constantly increasing collaboration in various respects". It is, added the head of state, "a consolidated and more than centuries-old presence". "The contribution that Italians living in Monaco make to the social, economic and cultural condition of the Principality is precious." Finally, Mattarella recalled that he had exchanged "considerations of commitment, friendship and great collaboration between our countries" with Prince Albert II.
