Mediapart accuses Jordan Bardella of having made anti-Semitic comments in 2013

Mediapart accuses Jordan Bardella, when he was a young activist of the National Front, the former name of the National Rally, of having made anti-Semitic remarks in written conversations in 2013, in a long investigation published Monday September 28. The president of the RN “formally” contests the alleged remarks to the investigative newspaper, denouncing “gross falsehoods”.

At the end of an investigation "of several months" with "dozens of written conversations", Mediapart paints the portrait of a young man "totally aligned with the theses of the multi-convicted anti-Semitic activist Alain Soral". According to Mediapart, Jordan Bardella writes in particular in a conversation, of which the media has retained the original spelling: "All the banks are owned by Jews. (…) The Jew must dominate other peoples, crush them and steal from them, a Zionist is necessarily Jewish, and in depth. In France, two good examples are BHL (Bernard Henri-Lévy) or (Jacques) Attali. And that is what they want, a New World Order dominated by Israel, with of course Jerusalem as its capital."

Jordan Bardella was 18 years old in September 2013. As part of another conversation from the time, mentioned by Mediapart, the young activist deplored that the "most important" ministries of Jean-Marc Ayrault's government "return to people for whom Israel and banking interests take precedence over French interests". He targets three ministers from Hollande's five-year term, according to Mediapart: Laurent Fabius, Pierre Moscovici and Manuel Valls.

A “crazy” for Marine Le Pen

Asked by the investigative media before the publication of the article, the president of the RN responded by e-mail and “formally” contested having “made, in public, as in private, orally or in writing, racist or anti-Semitic remarks of this type”. “The fact that I was not an active activist within the National Front during the summer of 2013, and still a minor, should alert you to the misleading nature of these ‘sources’,” he also declared, relaying this denial on the X platform.

“No normally constituted person can believe this crazy stuff,” retorted Marine Le Pen, traveling Monday to the construction professionals’ show in Paris, claiming not to have “read the Mediapart article.” But "it seems so crazy to me that it can only be a fake, a charade of which Mediapart has the secret", reacted the candidate for the Elysée, who has always declared wanting to make Jordan Bardella her Prime Minister.

Contacted by franceinfo, a close friend of the RN presidential candidate targets Mediapart and its founder, Edwy Plenel: "Mediapart! You want to talk about this newspaper run by someone who had glorified the horrible massacre of Israeli athletes in 1972? I pay no attention to these montages. The system is in total panic...
