MHP Leader's Emphasis on 'Terror-Free Türkiye' and Regional Stability

"Strengthening peace and stability in Turkey's immediate geography and increasing its effectiveness in a wide geography stretching from the Eastern Mediterranean to the Caucasus, from the Middle East to Europe are among the goals of 'Terror-Free Turkey'. MHP wishes to build Turkish peace, including its region, with the inspiration it draws from Turkish history, deep-rooted state institutionalism and ancient civilization accumulation. For this, first of all, establishing stability in our country and region and ending ethnic, religious and sectarian divisions Turkish peace aims to strengthen the central authorities in regional countries such as Syria, Iraq and Lebanon, to preserve their national unity and territorial integrity, and to establish a democratic state of law.

TERROR MUST BE ELIMINATED

For this to happen, illegal armed structures and terrorist organizations must be eliminated first. Türkiye without terrorism aims for regional stability and peace as a model of unity and solidarity against provocations and conflicts in our region. The era of coming from thousands of kilometers away and playing with the fate of the people of the region must now be left behind. Türkiye is located at the intersection of energy, transportation and trade corridors between Asia and Europe. The success of strategic projects such as the Central Corridor, Development Road Project, Turan Corridor (Road) and energy transmission lines largely depends on the climate of security and stability. A terrorism-free Türkiye will contribute to the more effective implementation of these projects.

INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS

The most fundamental characteristic of individual rights and freedoms is that the state is blind to differences and implements rights, freedoms and duties in an individual-centered manner. Therefore, individual rights and freedoms guaranteed by constitutions are 'given' and 'natural' rights arising from the human being, regardless of language, religion, race, gender, color, sect, ethnicity, wealth and similar differences. Based on this context, social, economic and political rights are based on universal criteria that the state guarantees without discrimination among its citizens. It is not possible to restrict individual rights and freedoms except in exceptional cases specified in the constitution.

STRONGER DEMOCRACY

With the elimination of separatist terrorism, it will be possible for Turkey to reach a stronger democracy and rise above the level of contemporary civilization. Democracy is an integral part of our national identity and understanding of nationalism. In a terrorism-free Turkey, the democratic state of law will be strengthened. Because where there is terrorism and violence, it is not possible to talk about people's free will, human rights and democracy. In the shadow of terrorism and violence, democratic politics narrows, alternative solutions are blocked and political participation processes do not progress on a healthy basis. That's why we said 'either terrorism or democracy, weapons or politics' and invited everyone to be united for Türkiye.

END OF PKK TERROR

Therefore, ending PKK terrorism will be an opportunity to strengthen democracy. The absence of a separate state, federation, autonomy or culturalist demands in the statements regarding the dissolution and disarmament decision of the PKK in line with the goal of a terrorism-free Turkey has been an important step for a new beginning in Turkey. This is a development that ensures the elimination of ethnicist, sectarian and other identitarian politics in Turkey that erode the Turkish national identity.

TURKISH CITIZENSHIP

Essentially, considering our fact of being a nation and our culture of democracy, identitarian politics is divisive rather than unifying; It is based on a political basis that is marginalizing rather than inclusive, and represents the search for collective/archaic rights rather than fundamental rights and freedoms and individual freedoms. The complete success of the process will only be possible if, beyond the disarmament of the terrorist organization, the understanding of politics and the separatist mentality that affirms terrorism in any way and is based on terrorism or vandalism become history. In this context, the aim of 'Terror-Free Türkiye' is to eliminate not only the terrorist elements in the mountains, but also the radicalized and marginalized structures, and to end violence entirely. At this point, Turkish citizenship has a function that connects ethnic elements in Turkey based on lineage to Turkish political belonging and transforms Turkish identity into a political umbrella form.
