Michael Schumacher returns to center stage at Monza in 2026 with track tributes, documentary and Lego exhibition

There are drivers who belong to the history of Formula 1 and others who, over time, become part of popular culture. Michael Schumacher goes beyond sport and the 2026 Italian Grand Prix demonstrates this with a series of initiatives which, thirty years after his arrival at Ferrari and his first victory in Monza in red, have brought the face and symbols of the Kaiser back to center stage.

The most visible tribute arrived on the track, with the livery and uniforms dedicated by Ferrari and in particular by Charles Leclerc. His helmet clearly recalls the one used by Schumacher: bright red, the colors of the German flag and, above all, the seven stars, already present on the face of the Red. A personal tribute, but also a sign of how Schumacher's legacy continues to live on in the Scuderia.

In Monza Netflix presents the trailer of 'Schumacher '94: the birth of a legend'. The documentary will be available from 2 October and will tell the story of one of the most intense and controversial years of his career, with the first World Championship won on Benetton after a clash with Damon Hill in Australia at the last race in a championship marred by the deaths of Roland Ratzenberger and Ayrton Senna. In Milan, however, Schumacher becomes construction material.

At the Arco della Pace, Lego brings a great celebration dedicated to Formula 1 and the Ferrari F2004, accompanied by a mosaic made with around 85 thousand bricks. And then there is the real story, the one made of carbon fibre, tires and engines. The 1999 Ferrari F399 is on display in the Aci Milan headquarters until 8 September: a single-seater which did not win the drivers' title probably only due to Schumacher's accident at Silverstone but which brought the constructors' championship back to Maranello after 16 years. Helmet, documentary, bricks and a real single-seater: the Kaiser, whose health conditions - according to his family's wishes - are in the strictest secrecy after his skiing accident in 2013, is not just a memory.
