The conditions of the sixteen-year-old struck by lightning on Mount Livata are improving

The conditions of the sixteen-year-old hospitalized for ten days in the Gemelli Pediatric Intensive Care Unit after being struck by lightning while he was in a scout camp on Mount Livata, in the Subiaco area (Rome) are clearly improving.

The boy gradually woke up, began to talk to his parents and move his limbs. The clinical picture shows a significant positive evolution. In the next few hours, if the favorable trend is confirmed, the doctors will be able to evaluate the resolution of the prognosis and the start of a second phase of hospitalization, oriented towards neurorehabilitation.

The Team of the Pediatric Intensive Care and Trauma Center of the Gemelli Polyclinic, directed by Professor Marco Piastra, expresses "great satisfaction with the results achieved so far, made possible by the chain of survival (thanks to the scouts and rescue services at the site of the event) and by the intensive care provided".

The boy arrived at Gemelli on Friday 7 August in extremely serious conditions following the electric shock caused by the lightning that struck him and the subsequent cardiac arrest.
