Why It Matters

Według komunikatu ośrodka naruszenie poufności danych mogło objąć m.in. dane kontaktowe, numery PESEL oraz informacje o stanie zdrowia pacjentów.

Open Questions

Shuangjiangkou Dam in Sichuan - the tallest dam under construction in the world uses heliostats to work in frost

The Shuangjiangkou Dam is being built in the Sichuan Mountains at an altitude of 2,200 meters, with a planned height of 315 meters, which is expected to become the highest dam under construction in the world. The use of 27 heliostats allows the temperature of the clay core to be raised by 3°C, extending the operating time by three hours a day in frosty conditions. The power plant will have four generators of 500 MW each, a total capacity of 2,000 MW and an annual production of approximately 7.7 billion kWh of energy.

The Polish EagleEye satellite is losing altitude and has communication problems

The Polish observation satellite EagleEye is located in a very low orbit about 300 km above the Earth, which leads to a systematic decrease in the trajectory and inevitable deorbitation. The satellite is experiencing two-way communication problems due to mispositioning of the ground antenna and a lack of onboard electrical power. The software patch could not be uploaded due to lack of connectivity.
