MKE TOLGA will also protect civilian ships

MKE TOLGA 20 mm Dual Armed Revolver System demonstrated its capabilities in the TURNAs-2026 National Unmanned Naval Systems Exercise. Air and surface targets were successfully destroyed in the shootings made from TCG BEYKOZ. The system was developed by the Machinery and Chemical Industry (MKE).

MKE TOLGA Will Also Be Adapted to Commercial Ships

MKE does not aim to use the system only on military ships. Commercial and civilian ships are also included in the plan, because some of these ships carry out strategic activities. Therefore, the need for protection is not limited to warships only.

For this reason, TOLGA is planned to be integrated into different naval platforms. For example, deep drilling and seismic research vessels are on the list. Cable laying ships and floating electricity production ships are also among these platforms. Thus, the system will be able to protect them against air and surface threats.

Capacity of 3,200 Pulses per Minute

TOLGA can make 3,200 beats per minute. This value makes the system reach a pulse rate three times higher than its equivalents in the world. Moreover, with its particle anti-drone ammunition, it can operate against kamikaze air and surface threats at an effective range of 1,000 meters.

MKE developed the system and ammunition with the Effective, Simple and Cheap (EBU) approach. In addition, its high firing rate allows rapid response to threats. Therefore, the system provides an advantage in situations that develop in a short time.

On the other hand, its high stabilization ability stands out. In other words, the gun's orientation to the target is maintained even when the ship is moving. This increases shooting effectiveness. As a matter of fact, the elevation angle of the system between -30° and +70° allows it to be used against targets at different altitudes.

Exhibited for the First Time at EURONAVAL 2026

The system, which demonstrated its capabilities with shooting at TURNAs-2026, also appeared at a fair for the first time. In addition, TOLGA was introduced to visitors at EURONAVAL 2026 held in Paris between 3-6 November.
