MLB regular season final game urgently moved to Tropicana Field in Florida due to weather

The final game of the Major League Baseball (MLB) regular season suddenly changed location due to weather.

The Major League Baseball Commissioner's Office announced on the 26th (Korean time) that the final game between the Boston Red Sox and Chicago Cubs will be held on the 28th at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, USA.

Boston and the Cubs were scheduled to play a three-game series at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts from the 26th to the 28th.

However, a powerful winter storm called 'Nor'easter' bringing heavy rain and gusty winds was forecast for the Boston area this weekend.

Accordingly, Boston and the Cubs played two games first in a double header on the 26th.

The problem is the final match on the 28th.

Boston is expected to experience strong winds and rain throughout the weekend.

Normally, the game could be played at Fenway Park on the 29th, the day after the rain stops.

However, the postseason begins on the 30th.

Boston won a wild card in the American League (AL) and the Cubs won a wild card in the National League (NL) and advanced to fall baseball.
