Streamer and YouTube star Charlie “MoistCr1TiKaL” White has shared the first look at the upcoming Godslap animated movie. The film is based on the graphic novel that White created with Jackson Clarke, Danny Palmer, and Matthew Phillips. It is now in production and is planned to arrive in 2028. White revealed the news in a YouTube video on September 3, where he also showed the first teaser for the movie. The project will bring the violent and action-filled comic world of Godslap to life through hand-drawn 2D animation.

White announced that Godslap is being made into a full animated movie. The film is being produced by Lyrical Animation and White’s own Meatier Productions. Kellan Stover will direct the movie, while Lyrical’s Daniel Dominguez and Jacob Robinson are writing the screenplay. The animation will be handled by Powerhouse Animation Studios. The studio is known for working on popular Netflix animated shows such as Castlevania and Masters of the Universe: Revelation. Production has already started, even though the movie is still a few years away from release. White said making an animated movie has always been one of his dreams. He also shared his excitement about working with Powerhouse and the rest of the team.

Godslap story sees MoistCr1TiKaL’s young hero battle a powerful corporation

Godslap is a cyberpunk-style comic that first launched in 2022 through publisher Bad Egg. The story takes place in a strange world where people can use powerful supernatural abilities through their hands. The comic has become popular, selling more than 100,000 copies around the world. The story follows an 18-year-old farm boy who has been kept hidden by his father. His father believes his special powers are a curse. After one terrible night changes his life, the young man must decide what to do with his powers. He soon faces a huge corporation that controls the world. He must figure out whether his powers will turn him into a monster or help him become the person who can stop the corporation. Godslap has already had a short animated version made by Sakowski Studios. That project showed the first 15 pages of the comic as a test for a possible larger series or movie. The new Godslap movie marks another big step for MoistCr1TiKaL outside YouTube and streaming. With production already underway and Powerhouse Animation handling the 2D animation, fans can expect more details as the project moves forward.
