Mourinho: I want to win against Inter in the Champions League

“I want to win. I can tell you that I want to play well, but I don’t want to play well and lose, as happened against Betis. There are eight matches, and the objective is to qualify, but I want to approach this match as if it were the only one that could secure our qualification.” These were the words of José Mourinho at the press conference on the eve of the Champions League clash between Real Madrid and Inter.

“The players,” he added, “I saw them as I like to see them; they had already recovered in Sunday’s training session. We were convinced we had played a good match against Betis; the goals we conceded were an anomaly. We have known issues, but nothing more. We will play and give our all.

“I lost a semifinal on penalties, but I don’t dwell on it. I think about being the coach of Real Madrid and that tomorrow’s Champions League match is not that important. I believe both teams will qualify, and every point matters: Inter will also come here to earn points.” Is the match against Inter special? “At this moment, yes; during the match, yes; after the match, no. It’s a match like any other.”
