Naples, the student hit in Viale Dohrn dies: the driver had fled

The 24-year-old student, originally from Lecce, who was hit by a car in Viale Dohrn late last Friday evening, did not make it. The doctors at the Ospedale del Mare, where she was hospitalized, declared her death. The family has given consent to start the organ donation process. The position of the boy, 19 years old, who was at the wheel of the car and who had fled without providing help, is therefore worsened.

The young man turned himself in the next day. The victim, in Naples on holiday with friends, was crossing Viale Dohrn, from the sea side towards the Villa Comunale, when, having reached the center of the road, she was hit by a vehicle traveling along the same road towards Piazza della Repubblica. Immediately after the impact, the driver walked away without providing assistance. 118 personnel arrived on the scene, immediately transporting the young woman to hospital, and the Road Accident Officers of the Naples municipal police who carried out the technical investigations, listened to the witnesses and acquired the images of the video surveillance cameras to be able to identify the pirate vehicle and also the images provided by a witness who, stopped in the car in the opposite lane, had handed over the frames of the dashcam of his car.
