Artist Hong Dao stars in the Korean movie "Tazza: The Song of Beelzebub"

Artist Hong Dao takes on the role of a businessman in the movie "Tazza: The Song of Beelzebub", starring with actors Byun Yo Han and Jo Woo Jin.

The film is directed by Choi Kook Hee, based on the comic series of the same name by artist Heo Young Man. The content tells the story of Jang Tae Young (Byun Yo Han), who built an online casino system but lost everything after being betrayed by his close friend Park Tae Young (Roh Jae Won). Meeting again in the world of international gambling, the two enter a battle of wits for revenge.

In the series of photos introducing the cast of the work, Hong Dao appears with short hair and a cold demeanor. The actor takes on the role of Thao, a powerful businessman who views important decisions in life as a bet. The character is one of the links in the story when the film expands its setting to Vietnam and Japan.

Besides learning the psychology of the character, the actor said he learned the rules of poker, practiced how to hold cards, use chips and perform operations on the betting table to prepare for the role.

During the filming process, the artist gave many compliments to director Choi Kook Hee and his co-stars, including Byun Yo Han, Roh Jae Won, Ayaka Miyoshi and Tsuyoshi Ihara. Hong Dao said that when she went to Korea to film last December, actor Byun Yo Han invited her to dine at a restaurant honored by Michelin. He called Hong Dao "Vietnamese Mom" ​​after conversations about work and life.

Part four of The Song of Beelzebub is the final chapter of the Tazza franchise, following the films Tazza (2006), Tazza: The Hidden Card (2014) and Tazza: One Eyed Jack (2019). The film is scheduled to hit theaters in Korea on September 23, one day before the Chuseok holiday - Korean Mid-Autumn Festival.

Before Tazza 4, Hong Dao appeared in international projects such as Netflix's Beef series and the Vietnamese-Korean film Bring Mom Away, directed by Mo Hong Jin.

Hong Dao is 64 years old, full name is Nguyen Dinh Hong Dao, known as one of the theater artists of the "golden generation" of Ho Chi Minh City in the 1990s, besides Thanh Loc and Hong Van. In 1994, the artist moved to the United States and settled in Northern California. In recent years, Hong Dao has participated in many film projects such as Phuong Khau, Dear Mother, Butterfly House, Sister-in-law. In the near future, she will star in the film Len Huong directed by Khuong Ngoc and Tan Hoang Thong, which will be released domestically on September 18.

After divorcing actor Quang Minh in 2019, the artist arranged his travel schedule between the US and the country to take care of his two children and parents - currently living in California. In 2024, the actor played the main role in Mai - a work that reached 520 billion VND, becoming a record-breaking Vietnamese movie at that time. In early 2025, the artist received the trophy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in the Green Star Award in Ho Chi Minh City.
