Frank Beard, drummer of ZZ Top, has died

The musician died at his ranch in Richmond, Texas, surrounded by his family.

We have lost a great friend and collaborator, and the world has lost one of the most innovative drummers and a great, true son of Texas. His characteristic rhythm was the key to staying at the top - emphasized the singer and guitarist of ZZ Top - Billy Gibbons. He also assured that, in accordance with Beard's wishes, the group will continue to function.

At the age of 20, Frank Beard joined ZZ Top. The result of cooperation with Gibbons and Dusty Hill was the album "ZZ Top's First Album", which was released in January 1971. It was in the style that became the band's trademark - Texas boogie-blues-rock.

Beard was the longest-serving member of the team after Gibbons. He was also the co-creator of such hits as "Sharp Dressed Man", "Tush", and "Gimme All Your Lovin".

ZZ Top have sold over 50 million records, and six of the group's singles reached the first place on the charts of the prestigious music magazine "Billboard".
