After that of Laura Casagrande and Marco Fassoni Accetti, the name of a third person under investigation now emerges in the new investigation by the Rome prosecutor's office into the disappearance of Emanuela Orlandi: it is Gabriella Boggiani, Accetti's former friend known to investigators for a phone call she made together with the now 70-year-old Roman photographer and filmmaker in 1983. "I now learn that I am being investigated" she said before the bicameral commission of inquiry into the disappearances of Mirella Gregori and Emanuela Orlandi. A statement which is also confirmed in circles close to the prosecutor's office: the woman appears to be under investigation in a different file from that of Accetti in which there are also other names, all belonging to the photographer's circle of acquaintances at the time, who had already accused himself in the past of Emanuela's kidnapping.
Boggiani distances himself from Accetti
"I have never been afraid - Boggiani said today in a secret hearing on several occasions - "certainly now after what was said here, I didn't know I was being investigated, I have a bit of fear". Boggiani then clarified the episode for which her name had also come to the fore in some media reconstructions and which had even led to her being spoken of as an alleged accomplice of Accetti, from which however today the woman distanced herself by speaking of her as a type "extravagant, crazy person" with whom he has no longer had contact after an occasional acquaintance dating back over 40 years ago. "One day Accetti told me come on, come on, do this joke" - he reported - "make this phone call, I made it, we were in a telephone booth in the African neighborhood" in Rome "but without thinking of anything strange, I didn't even know it was this name, this Orlandi, nothing had happened yet, he told me, say we know where Emanuela is Orlandi and that's it." Then pressed by the commissioners' questions, she added: "I confirm that I made a phone call, not that I read a statement" where the reference was to the alleged reading, in that phone call, of a statement in which Emanuela was asked to be exchanged with the Turkish terrorist Ali Agca.
Waiting for the results of new genetic investigations on the flute
For some time now, both the Commission and the prosecutor's office have been trying to sift through again episodes and aspects that were not thoroughly investigated in the past and which concerned Accetti, now under investigation in collaboration with unknown persons for the kidnapping for extortion purposes of Mirella Gregori and Emanuela Orlandi: in addition to the case of the 15-year-old Vatican citizen, the attention also extends to the death of the 13-year-old José Garramon, found lifeless in December of the same year in the pine forest of Castel Portian. It was Accetti himself who ran him over, who was then definitively convicted only of manslaughter, while today investigators are questioning the possibility that it was not a simple accident. Also in this regard, last week the Commission heard Josè's mother, Maria Laura Bulanti, who recognized Accetti as the "fake priest" who showed up at her home shortly before her son's disappearance. The Carabinieri Ris is also carrying out new genetic investigations on the flute that Accetti handed over to the prosecutor's office at the time he accused himself of the girl's disappearance. There is a wait for the results.
